Live Your Fandom campaign
Throughout 2025, VELO and the McLAREN Mastercard Formula 1 Team put fandom front and centre with the ‘Live Your Fandom’ campaign. The campaign united McLAREN fans worldwide as part of the Papaya Family. In September, nine McLAREN superfans from the UK, Romania, Czech Republic, Mexico, Austria and beyond, were invited to the McLAREN Technology Centre for a “golden ticket” experience.
This experience included a behind-the-scenes tour at the MTC, sharing memories with McLAREN Racing CEO Zak Brown, a surprise Q&A with McLAREN Mastercard F1 Team driver Lando Norris, and an intimate workshop where they sketched symbols of their most defining McLAREN moments.
These moments inspired the race-wide artwork at the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, including the race livery, driver suits, paddock screens and garage walls.
The fans’ contribution to the process was recognized at the exclusive reveal event in Abu Dhabi ahead of the race, where they were on stage to reveal the car alongside Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, Zak Brown and Matt Denington.
McLAREN, VELO and the 2025 Constructors’ Championship
McLAREN entered the 2025 Formula 1 season as reigning Constructors’ Champions, following a Constructors’ Championship winning 2024 campaign their first Championship in 26 years.
In 2025, McLAREN’s progress continued, and the team dominated the Constructors' Championship winning 12 times in the first 18 rounds, claiming their first back-to-back Constructors’ Championship since 1991 under the lights in Singapore.
It was a double for the team, as Lando Norris clinched the Drivers’ Championship at the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi in the MCL39 and a special fan designed livery. This was McLAREN’s first Drivers’ Championship since 2008. Throughout his Championship winning season, he won 7 races with 18 podium finishes.
